Reservations

If you are interested in any of our available kittens, please read the following information to familiarize yourself with our procedures and policies.

Purchase Agreement

When expressing interest in reserving a kitten, the interested party is acknowledging that they are in agreement with the policies and procedures of Fabled Coon Cattery. Our policies and agreements are put into place for the protection of our cats, kittens, and family. We do not deviate from our practices, and we require our future owners to care for our kittens with the same love and quality that we expect from ourselves.

At any point, if we feel that a home is unsuitable for one of our kittens, we reserve the right to deny a deposit and refuse a sale.

If you purchase a kitten from Fabled Coons Cattery, it is with the understanding that if you find yourself unable to care for your kitten at any point in their life, you will FIRST contact our Cattery before attempting to surrender or sell your kitten to another party or shelter.

All cats and kittens purchased from Fabled Coons Cattery are for companion-pet purposes only. When you bring one of our kittens home, you are agreeing to spaying or neutering your kitten, and providing them with regular and necessary veterinarian care.

You must provide Fabled Coons Cattery with a name and contact information of the vet to whom you will be taking your kitten prior to final payment and pickup of your kitten. We also expect to receive confirmation of spaying or neutering of your kitten within one year of taking your kitten home. If we do not receive such confirmation, in the form of a phone call, receipt, photo of a receipt or other direct communication from a veterinary professional, we will assume that you have decided to breed your cat, and will commence sending you a bill for the full cost of breeding rights of that cat.

Reservations and Purchases

Kittens require a $300 deposit to be reserved. ONLY a deposit will hold a kitten! We operate on a “first paid” policy honoring the order of payment of deposit. We have been forced to take on this policy because we frequently do not have enough kittens for interested families. Deposits can be made via Paypal, cash, or Postal Money order. No other forms of payment will be accepted. Money orders will not be accepted! Deposits are non-refundable! Please be sure of your decision and inquire about any questions you may have before sending a deposit! Please read all of our payment, shipping and pickup information BEFORE sending your deposit so that you will have no surprises.

Going home and Final Payments

Kittens will be available to be taken home at 9 weeks earliest. We reserve the right to extend any kittens time with their mother if we believe it is in the best interest of the kitten. All kittens must be taken home by 12 weeks unless other arrangements have been made.

At the time of pickup, the remaining balance of your kitten is due. If you are picking up your kitten in person, final payments will ONLY be accepted in cash OR Postal Money Order. Paypal IS NOT accepted for the final payment unless your kitten is being shipped. Please do not bring “gas station” money orders, they will not be accepted.

Kittens MUST be picked up by the end of the 12th week. If you are unable to bring home your fur-baby by the assigned week, then a weekly maintenance fee of $15 will be assessed at the start of each week that the kitten is held. We do not prorate.

By sending in your deposit, you agree to the above terms.

Shipping policies

If you live outside of Ohio, we will happily ship you your new furbaby! We use Delta Airlines. All expenses for shipment are the buyers. The cost of the flight is based on the distance the kitten will travel, the new owner is responsible for the full amount of that cost. In addition, we require a $50 fee that covers the necessary extras needed for shipping: this includes the health certificate vet-check, and the special airline approved carrier.

Please note that while we will send all papers, documents, and information as we would with a meeting pickup, we will be unable to ship the toy set, and the royal canine kitten kit, and canned wet food, when your kitten is sent via airline.

There are pet courier services available if you choose to utilize them. We are happy to work alongside reputable animal couriers. Please note that any costs incurred by using such a service is the responsibility of the buyer.

We are more than willing to meet you at the John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) if you would prefer to fly to Ohio to pick up your kitten. We would meet you at the terminal. Please check with your preferred airline to see if there are any fees associated with carrying a pet on board.

What to expect

Each kitten going to a new home will be sent with our kitten kit designed to help you and your new fur-baby adjust as easily as possible. Our kit includes an information booklet, a vaccination booklet, a set of specialty kitten toys, a Royal Canin kitten kit, several cans of Royal Canin canned food, a small bag of dry kitten food, a small bag of (clean) litter than your kitten is used to, a small soft blanket lovey, a ‘baby’ keepsake, a small carrier. Your fur baby will also have been given a bath, had his or her nails trimmed, and will have their first vaccinations and have been dewormed before they come home.

Please expect some level of digestive upset from your kitten when you bring them home. Stress and change will normal cause this in even the healthiest of kittens. Our kittens have had access to a litter box from the time they could crawl, please take the time to find what kind of litter you kitten prefers as this can change in different environments.

We expect that when you first bring your little one home, you will find yourself doting on them and spending extravagant amounts of time loving on your own sweet baby Maine Coon Cat! We hope you will be able to set aside some time to allow yourself to bond with and enjoy your kittens first few days at home.

We, at Fabled Coons Cattery, are always available to help answer questions and assist you as best as we can through the transition with your new furry family member.
